WHAT IS POP UP?
A mixed bag.
On purpose.
POP UP is the least predictable show on FOLSOE TV.
It lives in the gaps between the scheduled shows: a free evening, a spare afternoon, a sudden urge to play music, a raidtrain opportunity or an idea that probably should have been thought through for another ten minutes.
Instead of forcing that into another fixed format, POP UP leaves the door open.
Old, new, obvious or obscure. If it moves the room, it qualifies.
Yes. Guitars are allowed in the building.
Probably. Unless something else happens first.
One old record can become twenty. We know how this works.
This is the important category.

THE SCHEDULE
There isn't one.
POP UP does not replace the regular weekly shows. It lives between them.
It may appear on a quiet evening, on a day off, before another stream, after another stream or simply because not streaming suddenly feels like the wrong decision.
The safest strategy is to follow DJ FOLSOE on Twitch.

THE MUSIC
Genre boundaries are temporarily unavailable.
POP UP can move through pop, dance, house, rock, disco, trance, Eurodance, new releases, old favourites and tracks that do not fit neatly anywhere.
The question is simply whether the record makes sense in that particular moment.
Sometimes it does. Sometimes we play it anyway.

LIVE MEANS LIVE
The audience can bend the route.
When requests are open, Twitch chat can push POP UP in directions that were never on a plan.
One song triggers a memory. That memory triggers another request. Ten minutes later we are apparently doing a miniature 2003 special.
This is not a failure of programming.
This is programming.
